Even Stranger - An Upside down Story
Lead Game Designer - Level Designer

Designed for the course "Game and Level Design @Università degli Studi di Milano

In this project me and my team were asked to create a videogame and to design a complete level of it. In particular the game was supposed to be based on the Stranger Things universe.

Starting from pen and paper we created the very basic mechanics of the game: an RPG with isometric view and turn based fights and an intriguing story full of drama and twists.
Then we focused on one single Level in particular on the exploration of it, secrets and items on the map, enemies design and specific combat mechanics, everything documented in a complete Level Design Document.
For this entire Level we wrote all the lines of dialogue and all the possible outcomes.

Physical Testing
Every mechanic we introduced was tested accurately both physically (we played a sort of D&D version of it) and virtually (we used RPG Maker to create fast prototypes), then, when the level was complete, some companies came to evaluate it including Ubisoft, Milestone, a D&D campaigns writer and Digital Tales.
For the physical prototype we created characters, enemies and boards of the battlefields of the game with pen and paper. We also created some "cards" for the abilities of the character to use them in the physical testing.
