DON'T STOP!
Game Programmer - Technical Game Designer

Developed for the course "Videogame Design and Programming" @Politecnico di Milano

In this project me and my team were asked to develop a game starting from a concept voted by the other students. In particular the concept assigned to us was a local multiplayer platform game that combined a musical part in it.
The concept was not easy but after several brainstorms we managed to develop a local multiplayer platform and rhythm game in which players must cooperate in an endless run and not fall.

During the development I covered the part of Technical Game Designer and Level Designer, managing to also fix some code when needed.

Gameplay
The gameplay is quite simple but not easy to master: starting from a racing grid, at the countdown, one player (the Runner) has the job to run and jump on the platforms, the other player (the Creator) has the job to create the platforms on which the first player jumps. Every action (jumping and placing new platforms)  has to be done following the Rhythm and the music, suggested by a bar at the bottom of  the screen.
If players don't follow the Rhythm or the Runner falls they will lose some points (the Audience) that will decree their defeat.
The purpose of the game is to make as much points as the players can (by following the rhythm and going forward without falling)  and complete all the Songs.

Development
Everything was made in Unity,  using standard assets from the store (sadly, we didn't have an artist for the game, so I did the majority of graphic works, including assets, logos, etc..).
The time frame of about 3 months including the concept submission month.
I've written a Game Design Document too (not as complete as other my works because it was NOT required for the submission but it was useful for us).

The game still needs several fixes and introduction of smaller mechanics to be good enough but we plan to candidate it to the New Game Designer 2023 and releasing it on Steam.

State of the game
Playable (Prototype)
